초록

역사기록에 의하면 삼국시대의 백제와 가야는 매우 친밀한 관계에 있었다. 그것은 장식대도 등 고고학 자료를 통해서도 잘 증명된다. 백제의 경우 한성도읍기 후반부터 장식대도가 본격적으로 제작되었고 웅진도읍기 후반에 그 절정기를 맞이한다. 이러한 백제의 장식대도문화는 가야로 파급된다. 가야의 경우 서기 5세기 전반부터 백제의 장식대도문화를 부분적으로 수용하였으며, 그것을 기반으로 대가야의 성장이 본궤도에 오르는 5세기 후반경 ‘가야적인 장식대도’를 본격적으로 제작하였고, 연맹체 내 수장(首長)들에게 신속(臣屬)의 징표로 하사하여 지배체제를 공고히 하는데 활용하였다. 이후 가야는 급변하는 국제관계에 적절히 대응하면서 백제와의 끈을 놓지 않았는데, 가야 왕족묘에서 간간이 발견되는 백제의 장식대도가 이를 증명하고 있다.

According to a history record, Baekje Kingdom and Gaya had a very intimate relationship. The fact is proved with archeology data like ancient large Sword with a decorated ring pommel. In the case of Baekje, since Hanseong Baekje era people made Sword with a decorated ring pommel on a full scale, and the production reached the summit in the latter half of Woongin Baekje era. The culture of Baekje Sword with a decorated ring pommel extended to Gaya In the case of Gaya, since the first half of AD 5C, Gaya accepted the culture of Sword with a decorated ring pommel partly, and on the basis of it, development of Great Gaya was started in latter half of AD 5C. At that time Gaya made not Baekje's swords but “it's own Sword with a decorated ring pommel”. Those things were given to the lieges of allied countries as symbol of king's lieges, so were used to strengthen the unity of the ruling system. After that, Gaya dealt with international relationship aptly and formed continual relationship with Baekje. Baekje Sword with a decorated ring pommel came out from Gaya kingdom tumbs is testifying the fact.
