초록(영문)

Sword with a decorated ring pommel (and decorated with gold and silver), has been often excavated tram the tumuli of the Three Kingdom Period. This sword is not for practical use, but an item owned by the ruling class to display their authority. Sword with various types and decorations of pommel emerged tram the Han China and dispersed at East Asian countries. It became popular in Baekje, Gaya and Silla. In the course of repeated conflict and reconciliation and having a close political relationship, the manufacturing technology for sword with a decorated ring pommel was also actively exchanged. Sword with a decorated ring pommel is assumed to be manufactured at the centre of each countries and endowed to the aristocratic class in the Capital city and the ruling class of the localities. In particular, sword with a decorated ring pommel was manufactured and endowed to conciliate and control the powerful of the localities in those three kingdoms in the 5th and 6th Century AD, when the production of sword with a decorated ring pommel was concentrative. However, it was no longer discovered in the tumuli since the early 6th century AD because the control power of central government became reinforced and thus administrated the localities directly.
