초록(영문)

A study for horse trappings strap is unusual among lots of studies on a harness in Three-Kingdom Period. As a study on the crupper among horse trappings strap can apprehend the decorative character of horse decoration at that time and social difference as well it is important in a harness study. In this paper trying to restore a structure of the crupper I investigated the character of the crupper of Three-Kingdom Period as well as the character of horse decoration. As the crupper consists of pendants(杏葉) and links(雲珠) a study on the crupper must be considered the combination of them. Therefore I considered this combination through classification and analysis of them. Through this combination I suggest a diagram of the restored crupper. I also examined the class-consciousness and the regionality as well as types of the crupper through a quality of metarial accompanied harness. As a result of classification and analysis of the crupper components by an appearance a quality of metarial and a pattern plate a pendant which has a plate of entire-openwork pattern or anthemion-oval pattern gilt bronze iron based gilt bronze and iron based silver belongs to the upper rank. In case of a link a cylinder-like column link(立柱附雲珠) which uses only gilt bronze belongs to the upper rank and a circularity link(環形雲珠) and a plate link(板形雲珠) belongs to the lower rank. Based on this examination concerning the combination of the crupper components I suggested the diagram of basic form of the crupper structure. TypeⅠ is restored by two structures; TypeⅠa - a circularity link is put on a rump TypeⅠb - a hemisphere link(半球形雲珠) which has legs(脚) is put on a rump. I also suggested detailed diagrams as a quantity of pendants in a basic form. Type Ⅱ divided into three types; Type Ⅱa - a link which has legs is put on a centre of bump Type Ⅱb - a link is put on a centre of bump and links are added on both sides Type Ⅱc - one more link which has legs added up or down of Type Ⅱb. I suggested detailed diagrams as a quantity of legs in a basic form. Type Ⅲ divided into two types: Type Ⅲa which has one vertical strap and type Ⅲb which has more than one. I suggested detailed diagrams by a quantity of horizontal straps in Type Ⅲa and by a quantity of vertical and horizontal straps in type Ⅲb. Finally I examined the class-consciousness and the regionality of tombs by this classified crupper types and the accompanied harness. In the half of the 5th century a simple crupper was used putting only a link. It was not a period that decoration character was not developed yet. From the third quarter of the 5th century tombs which accompanied the crupper components increased explosively. Type Ⅲ was used for the upper rank from the beginning and it did a role to indicate a position different with type Ⅰ or Ⅱ. Type Ⅱ used for lower rank compared with type Ⅲ. Type Ⅰ-a practical type out of fanciness- was used in the western part of Nak-dong River which was sometimes used for the upper rank. Therefore it was used for the upper rank than type Ⅱ. The character was different as well. In the fourth quarter of the 5th century type Ⅲ was for the upper rank as well. However the aspect of type Ⅰ and Ⅱ turned around. Though type Ⅱ was lower than type Ⅲ the rank was slightly getting higher. In case of type Ⅰ it was not disappeared but the burying rank was weaken. In the first quarter of the 6th century the class of type Ⅰ was weaken and type Ⅱ and Ⅲ showed similar aspect with previous time. In the second quarter of the 6th century as the tradition of burying harness collapsed examples of burying crupper were decreased remarkably and type Ⅰ was not used any more. As plentiful harness burying means the upper rank in this period type Ⅱ and Ⅲ showed regional difference rather than class difference. As mentioned above as this paper focused on suggesting of a basic form of the crupper structure through the combination of each harness detail investigation of individual attributions of accompanied artifacts is lacked. It is missed that just results of previous studies were refered in chronolgical part as well. From now on based on these basic forms of the crupper I want to research about a bridle and a breastband. As the basic form of horse trapping strap is suggested the restoration of whole horse decoration will be possible. I hope that more datum will be accumulated. Then I want to research this as assignment henceforth.
